Grow Yellowhead Local Food Initiative

Local Food_Page_Banner

Consumers want to know where their food comes from and how and where it’s produced!

Welcome to Grow Yellowhead.

The goal of the Yellowhead Local Food Initiative is to ensure that a wide range of local food options are readily available to consumers across our region; from local farmers markets and grocers to all other markets across the County and beyond!

We’re helping local food producers, from small niche markets to large processors, get into new markets that are looking for locally sourced food and related products.

The Yellowhead Local Food Initiative network will help you better promote your goods to your current buyers by entrusting your products with the local Grow Yellowhead brand and assist you in identifying new markets as we work to create a connected network across the region that brings the best and freshest products Yellowhead County has to offer.

Yellowhead County has an Employee Health and Safety Policy. Overall, the Policy indicates that the County is committed to a strong safety program that protects its staff, its property and the public from accidents.

However, in order for the program to succeed it requires Managers, Supervisors, Workers and contractors to all be responsible and accountable for the overall safety initiatives.

Complete and active participation by everyone, everyday, in every job is necessary for the safety excellence the County expects. An injury and accident free workplace is our goal. In order to meet this goal Yellowhead County is committed to meeting or exceeding the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation & Code.
